Collect of St Mark

Almighty God who has instructed your Holy Church with the heavenly doctrine of your Evangelist St Mark. Give us grace, that, not being like children carried away with every blast of vain doctrine, we may be established in the truth of your holy Gospel, through Jesus Christ our Lord

Mothers Union

The Mothers’ Union meet on the 2nd and 4th Mondays of each month at 7.45 pm in the Rectory beginning on Monday 22nd September. Click here to view the 2014-2015 programme, If anyone is interested in one or more of the subjects, please come along and be assured of a warm welcome.

Our “Charis” Thrift Shop has now been going 10 years. Over this time Charis has contributed a great deal to our local community. We sell good quality used clothing, furniture, toys, shoes, ornaments etc.

The shop’s opening hours are:

Monday – Friday – 11:00am – 2:00pm

Missionary Group

This is a group of which we are very proud. This has been going for over 40 years and we support different projects throughout the world. At the moment we are supporting the church and missionary partners in Swaziland. We meet on the 1st Monday of each¬†month at 7.45pm and invite different speakers. It really is very interesting. We hold a “May Fair” to generate money for work overseas.

Bible Study

The Bible Study will resume on Thursday 4th September at 7.45pm in the Rectory, we meet every Thursday at 7.45pm.

We have nearly finished Philippians. We have arrived at Chapter 4. We are considering what book next. ‘Obadiah’ has been suggested, but considering that we are a democratic, harmonious, agreeable, no-contentious, little band of brothers and sisters, further suggestions are welcome. See you on the 4th!

Gardening Team

The Gardening Team meet during the late Spring unto the end of Summer ,and we always welcome new volunteers to assist us in maintaining (and perhaps improving!) the considerable garden area of St.Mark’s. Refreshments are provided and we usually meet on a Monday¬†evening from 6.30 pm until about 9pm. A small team works at the moment but we would like to encourage some new members so that we can do just that little bit more to the grounds and their upkeep. Please contact Geraldine Montgomery for more details.
